Puzzles
Puzzles are problems or enigmas designed to test and develop an individual’s problem solving skills and ingenuity. They come in many different forms, such as logical, mathematical, picture, and word puzzles. A basic puzzle is a collection of different shaped pieces that you arrange in the right order to form the desired picture or object.
In most cases puzzles are created and solved for entertainment purposes. Maze, construction, and connect the dot puzzles can be used to entertain and develop the minds of young children. Cross-word, Sudoku, anagrams, ciphers, and jigsaw puzzles are designed to entertain adults during traveling. For almost all ages, there are a wide variety of puzzles that will keep an individual entertained and challenged.
There are a series of logic puzzles that are solved on chess boards and involve only several of the chess pieces, such as knight’s tour and eight queens. These types of puzzles are very difficult to solve and can take hours to finish. Mathematical problems are some of the most difficult to solve, some are even labeled as “impossible puzzles.” The missing square and the “three cups problem” are among some of the more popular mathematical problems.
